Worship, Prayer and Spirituality

There is an act of collective worship every day and grace is said before the midday meal and prayers end the school day. Therefore, the children are regularly reminded of God's presence and his teachings in their daily life at Worlebury St Paul’s Primary School. We also have three lovely outdoor spiritual areas and many indoor spiritual spaces where children can be still, pray and reflect.

Stories from the Old and New Testaments are told to the children weekly in worship. Rev Gail Thomas, who visits us regularly, teaches about the seasons and festivals of the Church Year and the major Christian festivals are celebrated in school.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from acts of Christian worship and Religious Education and should inform the school in writing if they wish to do so. In these circumstances, a child will be asked to work in another classroom with work prepared by the class teacher.

We offer our pupils opportunities to develop their own spiritual leadership through leading collective worship as a class (class worship), leading a Bible story in worship, leading Harvest, Christmas and Easter services and, for our Year Six children, leading a weekly worship in ‘Crew’ groups.
